Coaching built for real life

You don’t need another generic training calendar.

You need a plan that responds when work gets busy, weather changes, a workout goes poorly, or your body needs a different approach.

You’re preparing for your first half or full marathon.

You’ve followed plans before but struggled with pacing, consistency, or recovery.

You want to improve without treating every run like a test.

You need accountability and clear adjustments when training doesn’t go perfectly.

The Race Ready Run System

Every part of race preparation, working together.

Running is the foundation. The details surrounding it determine whether you can consistently absorb the work and arrive prepared.

01

Personalized run training

Easy runs, quality sessions, long runs, and race-specific work progressed around your fitness, schedule, and goal.

02

Strength and mobility

Runner-specific work that supports durable mileage without leaving you flat for the runs that matter.

03

Fueling and recovery

Practice hydration, long-run fueling, daily nutrition, and recovery habits before race day exposes the gaps.

04

Weekly accountability

Review what happened, make smart adjustments, and keep one difficult day from derailing the entire build.

Meet your coach

I’m Greg Barber.

I’m an ACE-certified personal trainer and running coach with more than 10 years of experience. I help everyday runners turn an intimidating race goal into a clear weekly process they can consistently follow.

You don’t need elite speed or unlimited training time. You need honest feedback, a plan that fits your life, and a coach who knows when to push—and when to adjust.

Common questions

Before you apply.

Why do runners hit the wall?

The wall is often caused by several factors working together, including starting too fast, taking in too little carbohydrate or fluid, underdeveloped race-specific endurance, and accumulated fatigue. Coaching helps identify which parts of your preparation need attention before race day.

How does marathon coaching help?

Marathon coaching gives you a plan built around your fitness, schedule, race, and training response. Weekly feedback allows your mileage, workouts, recovery, pacing, and fueling practice to be adjusted as the build unfolds.

Is coaching appropriate for first-time marathoners?

Yes. First-time marathoners benefit from a progressive plan, realistic pacing, long-run guidance, fueling practice, recovery support, and clear adjustments when training does not go perfectly.

Can coaching include pacing, fueling and strength?

Yes. Your coaching can coordinate pacing, fueling, hydration, runner-specific strength, mobility, recovery, and race-day strategy with your running plan rather than treating them as separate pieces.

Can I receive marathon coaching if I live outside Lexington?

Yes. Online marathon coaching is available across the United States. You train where you live, share feedback and training data remotely, and receive Greg's guidance and weekly plan adjustments throughout your build.
